The postgraduate program “Master in Education” at a glance

The subject-matter of the postgraduate program is Education. The program is designed to develop professionals and experts to be leaders in the field of education. Graduates from this program will have been equipped with:

• the theoretical background required to comprehend, evaluate and interpret cognitive processes, social and emotional development of pupils with higher learning abilities and learning difficulties, and trained to design and implement programs of personalized educational intervention.

• cooperation, communication, information management skills, possessing technological and scientific literacy; specialized in human rights, intercultural education, minority education and intercultural counseling; trained to plan and implement intercultural training programs.

• the necessary knowledge, attitudes and judgement skills as well as problem solving and decision-making skills, comprising effective leaders and administrators at positions of high responsibility in the contemporary education system.

• the scientific way of thinking in the fields of theory of science and research, which is the prerequisite for a doctoral dissertation.

A Masters in Education Diploma is awarded upon completion of the postgraduate program in one of the following specialized concentrations:

1) Special Educational Needs of Children and Adolescents: Learning Abilities and Learning Difficulties.

2) Social inequality, diversity and Greek as a second or foreign language.

3) Teacher Education: Language and Scientific Literacy.

The program spans three (3) semesters as full-time program.

The fees for attending the program are 2,000 € (1st semester 650 €, 2nd semester 650 € and 3rd semester 700 €).

The number of admissions to the program per year is thirty (30), i.e. ten (10) per specialization.

The total number of ECTS of the whole program: 90
